Dream it, Believe it, Speak it.

What a year this has been – it has been an amazing rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish and very exciting to experience the many new clients and adventures I have had.

I remember the exciting trip to San Diego with Julie to speak at the Association of Talent Developers (ATD) Conference. It was such an honour to speak at the same event as Barrack Obama. The trip to Malta to speak at three different events was also very exciting.

Finland was amazing

The four trips I made to Finland to run my Mental Resilience Masterclass for Fortum the largest energy company in Finland was a great experience. The delegates at each event were high level executives and the feedback was excellent.

It was also great to deliver around 10 Masterclasses for Rolls Royce over the year and this was a real breakthrough. I spoke to several schools and Trent University as well as a number of solicitors. Speaking at the Builders Merchant Federation Conference was a wonderful experience on behalf of Kevin at PGS.

Live and Learn – a great partnership

Working with Lisa, Paul, Marie and Lesley from Live and Learn was brilliant as always. They booked me for great organisations like Aggregate Industries, Tunbridge Wells Council, Paperstone, Wolverine Worldwide, North Herts Homes, Barts Charity, Association of School and College Leaders, Marine Society and Sea Cadets to name a few.

My recent connection with Jim at PDW is really exciting with good things to come next year. I ran some half day Masterclasses for Vistage which is the worlds largest organisation for Managing Director development and I finally received my first feedback score of 9 out of 10 for my last session in December. This is something I have been working towards for a while and it was great to finally reach that milestone. Continual improvement is key.

I lost my sister to cancer

As well as all the wonderful things I have experienced this year I had the devastating experience of losing my sister to cancer in April. I cannot lie that this hit me and the business hard. She used to work for me and was very good at email marketing and finance. I had to re-adjust during the year to not only losing my sister but changing the way the business is run.

I have said many times that it’s not what happens but how you respond which counts. So I grieved and went through the normal emotions of losing someone dear to me, but I did fight back and work to adjusting the business and getting it back on track. It took some time, but we are now back on track and ready for 2019.

Dream it, Believe it and Speak it.

It feels like 2019 is going to be a great year and I am excited about the bookings we already have including a new client in Germany and a very exciting booking at the end of May.

I am creating a second Mental Resilience Masterclass and talk for 2019 and have been watching some amazing videos I will be including. One in particular caught my eye. This is a world champion who said that he had to Dream it, Believe it and Speak it.

He had to Dream or Visualise what he wanted to become, he had to believe that he could do it and then he had to have the confidence to tell people that he would do it. There is power in the spoken word. He also said it was easy to be positive when things were going well but the real secret was to still see the positive when things were going bad.

Dare to speak positive words

So I am believing that 2019 is going to be a really good year with exciting new developments to allow me to share my Mental Resilience techniques with as many people as possible to positively change their lives. It is such an honour to be able to impact so many people in a positive way – I am passionate about this and very excited to see what 2019 brings.

Thoughts for 2019

1. Take a few hours out as soon as you can and write down a list of things you would like to achieve in 2019
2. Pick out a few of these which excite you most.
3. Do you believe that achieving these is possible?
4. Visualise yourself achieving these and how it feels to achieve them.
5. What you focus on you tend to achieve – whether positive or negative.
6. Dream it, Believe it, Speak it.

Well that’s it for 2018 have a wonderful weekend and Happy New Year!

Warmest regards

John
