A Very Special Bank Account!

This week has been great fun with a trip to Newcastle to run my Mental Resilience Masterclass for Muckle Solicitors, a coaching session on Wednesday and a further coaching session on Thursday.

I just love what I do and when I receive consistently positive feedback this gives me the desire to do more. The feedback from award winning Muckle Solicitors was so positive and I really enjoyed the delivery.

Two great coaching sessions

The two coaching sessions with two of my regular clients were so good. It is great to see them growing and positively addressing the challenges they originally came to see me about. I find it hard to believe that I am developing this amazing business so late in my life.

This week I received some feedback from a Masterclass I ran for the NSG Group Japan just before Christmas. This is one of the world’s largest glass manufacturers and includes Pilkington Glass. This was an international training day with delegates from all over the world including the USA, Argentina, Brazil, China, Japan, Italy, Germany, UK and India.

Amazing feedback

The feedback I have just received is their official feedback and it is amazingly positive. This is very exciting as the 24 people who attended are key players in the organisation from very different cultures and they all found the Masterclass very effective indeed.

I recently came across this story from America which talks about our use of time and how easy it is to lose precious time every day.

A very special bank account

“Imagine you had a bank account that deposited $86,400 each morning. The account carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every dollar each day! We all have such a bank. Its name is Time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever time you have failed to use wisely. It carries over no balance from day to day.

You lose any time you don’t use

It allows no overdraft, so you can’t borrow against yourself or use more time than you have. Each day, the account starts fresh. Each night, it destroys all unused time. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, it’s your loss and you can’t appeal to get it back.

There is never any borrowing time. You can’t take a loan out on your time or against someone else’s. The time you have is the time you have and that is that. Time management is yours to decide how you spend the time, just as with money you decide how you spend the money.

It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do them and where they fall in our priorities.”

Laser Like Focus

Focus is one of the 5 key pillars I speak about and laser like focus each day brings about amazing results. Good time management is key to this and prioritising the important things you need to do each day is critical.

Don’t let yourself just do the easy things all day long and still have those important tough things left to do. Do the tough things first thing – and do them in the morning when it has been proven we all have more energy. Yes, even the night birds who prefer to stay up late and get up a bit later.

Tackle the Important tough things early in the day

We all have more energy in the morning and early afternoon – after that we start to tail off. So, it makes sense to use your energy in the morning to tackle the tough things on your list. This is one of they key things to success.

Come and see me speak!!

I am pleased to announce that I am speaking at an open event for the first time in a long time and it’s an exclusive business breakfast event in Burton on Trent run by Astute Recruitment on Thursday 15th February. It’s being held at the Branston Golf Club Burton Rd, Branston, Burton upon Trent DE14 3DP

It starts at 7.30am and tickets are now very limited but there may be one or two places left if you want to see me deliver my one-hour session which includes me teaching you to visualise professionally. Visualisation has changed my life and it can change yours too.

Thoughts for the week

1. What is your time management like?
2. Do you get the important things done each day?
3. If not, then start focussing on your mornings to get the tough important things done.
4. When you do this it’s downhill and easy for the rest of the day.
5. Focus on the first four hours of your day to get the important things ticked off.

Well that’s it for this week have a wonderful weekend and stay positive.

Warm regards

John
